The truth: Heat pumps designed for the UK market can work down to -25 degrees C. 

Modern air-water heat pumps, designed for heating, can efficiently generate energy from cold air right down to -25 degrees. Our advice is to look at the performance details of products you are considering and make sure that it can deliver the flow temperatures the property requires even when the temperature is cold outside.
